“It’s going to be like Christmas but better” is what Jess said when I sat down with her to talk about her wedding, and what can I say it certainly was. Taking place at the gorgeous family home where Rueben spent his Summers growing up, it was a gorgeous and intimate day filled with so much love and laughter.

Jess found the perfect minimal dress online that was so her, and pair with a gorgeous bouquet from La Botanic and incredible hair by Amanda from Tony’s. The love between Jess and Rueben was evident, and the backdrop of Oyster harbour was perfect for their heartfelt vows.

But nothing was quite a heartwarming as when the newly weds walked back down the aisle to find their best friend had surprised them and flown in that morning. Many more tears and hugs followed and it was such a sweet moment to the day.

In true Christmas-like spirit the kids jumped on dirt bikes, followed by whip-cracking and amazing food from Woodfire Catering. It was a moment of pure joy and laughter that set the tone for the rest of the day.

As the night went on, the clear marquee strung with fairy lights created a magical atmosphere for the couple and their family to celebrate. Rueben's brother lit an epic bonfire towards the end of the night to keep everyone warm on the spring night. It was the perfect spot to gather around, chat, and enjoy each other's company.

And what's a wedding without cake? Rueben's sister baked an amazing cake, and grandma sat by the fire with her shoes off, enjoying a slice and the warmth of the bonfire.

Jess and Rueben's small wedding became a heartfelt celebration that showed how even the smallest details can make a big impact. It was a day full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
